Can I take the Bodhisattva pendant I picked up with me?

In recent years, some people who do not understand Buddhism want to rely on Buddhist mascots as "talismans" for the safety and well-being of themselves, their families and friends. Some handicraft manufacturers have taken the opportunity to cater to people's psychological needs. The statues of Buddha and Bodhisattva are used as "talismans" such as badges and gold cards. They also promote "men wearing Guanyin and women wearing Buddha". Some people even cast Buddha statues on gold rings. They not only carry Buddha and Bodhisattva statues to unclean places such as toilets, but also use The hand with the Buddha statue ring is not clean (someone once dropped the Buddha statue hanging on the body into the toilet).

The Buddhist scriptures say: "If a person does not wash his hands and pray to the Buddha after going to the toilet, he will be guilty of immeasurable sins. After death, he will be infested with insects in the toilet." Then the sin of holding a Buddha statue in the toilet is even greater.

It can be seen that wearing a badge of Buddha and Bodhisattva does not bring blessings and attracts sins, and has no protective effect. The Buddha mentioned many times in the sutras that people should chant the holy names of Buddha and Bodhisattva, but never mentioned that people should wear Buddha statues. Nowadays, many businessmen and even some monasteries who only care about immediate profits are also using "protective Buddha" to make money. There are also some monks who have recently become monks and use badges such as Buddha statues and gold cards as gifts to make friends. In fact, they are committing sins without knowing it, and they will suffer endless suffering in the future.

There are also many people who print Buddhist scriptures in recent years, or print Buddha images on the cover of the scriptures. This is inappropriate and should be printed on the second page of the scriptures.

Most people who come to temples burn incense, but now many incense manufacturers do not improve the quality of incense, but use Buddha and Bodhisattva statues as packaging to attract pilgrims. People spend money to buy low-quality incense, but still put the packaging with Buddha images in the trash can, or leave it on the ground for people to step on. The crime is really unimaginable.

I hope that knowledgeable people will not buy incense printed with Buddha images in the future, and incense factories will no longer use Buddha images as trademarks for packaging, but should improve the quality of incense. In this way, both those who make incense and those who buy incense can avoid sin and gain blessings, and both can benefit from it.

If you want to get the practical benefits of Buddhism, you must seek respect. I sincerely invite all the great virtues and faithful believers in the ten directions to respect the Three Jewels and gain practical benefits together.

The real protective items should be the "mantras" and "mantras" written by blessings, rather than hanging the Buddha statues on the body; the Buddha statues are solemn images of the Dharma, which makes us respectful. Therefore, we must respect the Three Jewels and make offerings to the Three Jewels in order to learn Buddhism.

Volume 2 of the third volume of Master Yinguang's notes, "Replying the Book of Wu Chongyin"

If you can't wear Buddha statues, badges and ornaments, what can you wear? It should be based on the teachings of my Buddhist scriptures. Like the Shurangama Mantra. The Seventh Volume of the Surangama Sutra at the head of the Great Buddha says: "...if in all worlds, all living beings in the country write this mantra on white birch bark and clam leaf paper (folded hair), and store it in a sachet. This man's heart is faint, If you can't recite it, you should keep it on your body or in your home. You should know that this person will not be harmed by any poison for the rest of his life..."

Be careful when wearing the Shurangama Mantra. The master taught: "Anyone who wears the Shurangama Mantra etc. around him must take it off when he is lying down or when urinating or defecating. Only when there is extreme danger, you don't have to take it off. If you don't take it off when there is no danger at ordinary times, it is a crime of blasphemy. It's so good. There are sutras and statues in the room, so you should pay special respect to them. They are the ones found by Manjushri. You should always be in awe and not be presumptuous." )
