To understand the origin of "Lai Mao" wine, we must first understand the history of Lai family. Lai's ancestors were from Fujian. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, he moved from Fujian to Ji 'an Prefecture in Jiangxi Province and served as an official for generations. Later, he was ordered by the imperial court to take part in the rebellion from Jiangxi to Ping Huang, Guizhou. Lai's genealogy records that his ancestor Lai Daoguang died in and was buried in Langdong, huangping county. According to records, during Guangxu period, Grandfather Lai and his five brothers often traveled back and forth between Sichuan and Maotai to sell salt, thus knowing that Maotai was a holy place for wine making, that is, they opened a shaomao wine workshop in Yangliuwan, Maotai Village. Later, because of the war and fire, I had to move to Guiyang (but Maotai still has descendants).

Grandfather relies mainly on small business. He has three sons: the eldest son Lai Jinyuan, the second son Lai Jinkun (Mr. Wang's father) and the third son Lai Yusheng. The three brothers jointly founded the warehouse "Lai Xinglong". At first, they dealt in local products. After accumulating the original funds, their business scale has expanded, and they have also established industries, such as opening banks, wineries, schools, libraries and pastures. At that time, "Lai Xinglong" was very famous in the southwest and Guangdong and Guangxi.
