Violations are divided into selling counterfeit goods (i.e., Class C violation), serious violations (i.e., Class B violation) and general violations (i.e., Class A violation).

According to the "Taobao Market Management and Violation Handling Specifications"

Article 11 Types of Violations Member violations are divided into selling counterfeit goods (i.e. Class C violations) and serious violations (i.e., Class B violations) and general violations (i.e., Class A violations), points will be deducted independently, accumulated separately, and executed separately.

(1) Selling counterfeit goods refers to the act of selling counterfeit registered trademark goods or selling pirated goods;

(2) Serious violations refers to the sale of counterfeit goods other than the sale of counterfeit goods. Acts that seriously undermine the operating order of the Taobao platform or are suspected of violating national laws and regulations;

(3) General violations refer to violations other than the sale of counterfeit goods and serious violations.

Special market violations also follow the above-mentioned classification of violation types.

Article 12 Points and Points for Violations

(1) After the violation is established, Taobao will deduct points from the member. When the deduction points reach a node, Taobao will take corresponding node processing measures for members;

(2) If a member has a large deduction for a single violation, resulting in accumulated deduction points that meet the processing conditions of multiple nodes, Or if similar node processing needs to be performed during the violation processing period, only the most severe node processing will be performed;

(3) For members who have been subjected to node processing, when all their violations are corrected and the violation processing period expires , After the violation handling measures are completed and the node examination is passed, the normal state can be restored;

(4) Members' violation points will be cleared at 23:59:59 on December 31 of each year.

If a member’s accumulated points for selling counterfeit goods reach 24 points or more, they will not be reset in that year and 24 points will be counted in the following year; if the points deducted for new sales of counterfeit goods do not reach 24 points in the next year , the illegal deduction points will be cleared at 23:59:59 on December 31 of that year. If the cumulative deduction points reach 48 points or more, the account will be sealed. At the same time, Taobao will implement a "three strikes and you're out" system for selling counterfeit goods.
