In the summer of 1955, the Shituan Farm Sideline Processing Factory established a wine-making team specifically for pig raising. On November 20 of the same year, the first pot of wine was successfully trial-produced.
Official production began in 1956, with 49.35 tons of wine produced that year.
In 1957, a brewing workshop was built in Shoalbulak. The original brewing group was moved from the pig farm to Shoalbulak, and was separated from the processing plant and was called "Ten Group Brewery".
In 1959, when Ho Chi Minh, Chairman of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, visited Xinjiang, the Corps Commander Tao Zhiyue entertained him with liquor produced by the 10th Regiment, and Hu Zhudu praised "Xinjiang Moutai". In 1962, the first batch of "Yili Baijiu" bottle packaging was put into the markets of Urumqi, Yining and Xinyuan County, opening up sales for the first time.
On July 8, 1963, "Ili Baijiu" was rated as high-quality liquor by the autonomous region.
On December 1, 1964, with the approval of the Trademark Management Office of the Central Administration for Industry and Commerce, the liquor produced by the distillery was registered as the "Yili" brand trademark.
In April 1965, "Ili Daqu" liquor was rated second at the liquor cooperation meeting of the five northwest provinces.
In 1966, technician Li Zugong led members of the trial production team to successfully trial produce "Special Yili Daqu" and put it on the market. In 1976, the 10th Regiment Winery was renamed as the 72nd Regiment Yili Daqu Winery.
In May 1979, at the first wine evaluation meeting of the autonomous region, the special Yili Daqu (i.e. Yili Tequ) was rated as a "local famous wine"; Yili Daqu (i.e. Yili Daqu) was rated as a "local famous wine"; Quality wine”.
On October 31, 1979, the winery changed its trademark registration to "Yili brand", but continued to use "Yili brand" until July 1991.

In August 1983, a letter came from the Zepu Stone Base in Southern Xinjiang, reporting that one bottle of the purchased "Ili Daqu" wine had quality problems. The winery sent deputy director Zhong Shichang and driver Wang Yingfu to make a special trip to confirm. After that, he immediately compensated for one box (24 bottles) of "Ili Daqu" and sent another 7 boxes to apologize. The round trip took more than 3,000 miles and lasted 8 days.
In January 1985, the winery submitted the "Feasibility Study Report on the Yili Daqu Winery Expansion Project with an Annual Output of 5,000 tons" to the autonomous region and the Corps. It planned to expand from 1985 to 1990, with the total liquor output Achieve 5,000 tons, including 1,500 tons of famous wines, and strive to reach 10,000 tons of winery by 2000.
On July 18, 1986, the original "Ili Daqu Winery of the 72nd Regiment of the Fourth Agricultural Division" was renamed "Xinjiang Yili Daqu Winery" and was upgraded from the original company-level organization to a battalion-level organization.
In July 1986, half a month before the Xinjiang-wide liquor re-evaluation meeting, the winery successfully trial-produced 38 (v\v) Yili Laojiao.

On May 1, 1988, the Fourth Agricultural Division established the "Ili Daqu Brewing Company" on the basis of the original "Ili Daqu Winery", and the winery and the 72nd Regiment implemented separation of powers.
