France is the first country in the world to formulate trademark law. The French Civil Code in the early 19th century for the first time affirmatively compared trademark rights with other property rights, providing equal legal protection. In 1803 and 1809, France twice formulated the "Recorded Trademark Protection Act", which is said to be the world's first written law to protect trademark rights. In 1857, France promulgated the "Trademark Rights Law", which is the world's first written law to protect trademark rights. The first systematic trademark protection law established a comprehensive registration trademark protection system for the first time.
