Beijing Tongrentang was founded in the eighth year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (1669). After eight generations of emperors, it has created the spirit of rigorous Excellence in pharmaceutical technology. Its products are famous at home and abroad for their unique formula, excellent materials, exquisite technology and remarkable curative effect. 1989, the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce recognized Tongrentang as a well-known trademark in China.
According to historical records, Wenzhou Ye Tongrentang Pharmacy was founded in the 9th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (AD 1670), and it is quite famous in southern Zhejiang and northern Fujian. Once selected as "China Centennial Pharmacy". 1956, the pharmaceutical warehouse was changed to Wenzhou Sinopharm Joint Pharmaceutical Factory through public-private partnership, and the name "Ye Tongrentang" was no longer used. 1965 was renamed Wenzhou pharmaceutical factory. In 2002, Wenzhou Haihe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. registered the trademark "Ye Tongren" in the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. However, considering that "Tang" is another name for the store, the word "Tang" is still used after the enterprise name "Ye Tongren".
In fact, Ye Tongren in Wenzhou and Tong Ren Tang in Beijing had a period of mutual appreciation many years ago. In 2002, Beijing Tongrentang Nanyang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. opened a ginseng tonic counter in Ye Tongrentang, Renmin East Road, Wenzhou, and made a good profit. From June 5438 to February 2003, Beijing Tongrentang withdrew from the counter, and then in August 2004, Beijing Tongrentang sued Wenzhou Ye Tongrentang for trademark infringement, claiming a huge sum of 50 million yuan. The two sides thus produced a tort lawsuit that shocked the north and the south.
After mediation, the two sides finally reached an agreement to remove the word "Tang" from the signboard of "Ye Tongrentang" in Wenzhou. At the beginning of April 2005, Wenzhou "Ye Tongrentang" completed a series of changes. On June 27th, the signboard of "Ye Tongrentang" Medical City was quietly changed to "Ye Tongren". This brand which has existed in Wenzhou for more than 300 years has officially become "Ye Tongren".
