Macau trademark registration process and application materials

The main process for applying to register a trademark in Macao, China is: Application - Formal Review - Preliminary Examination Announcement (2 months) - Substantive Review (distinctiveness, similarity, etc.) - Registration Announcement - Approval and Issuance certificate. If everything goes well, the entire procedure will take 6 to 8 months.

If the applicant is not resident or established in Macau, China, he or she must entrust a local specialized agent to handle the application. The basic materials required for trademark application are:

②Category and specific product items;

③Applicant’s name and address;

⑤ If priority is declared, the original certificate of priority must be provided.
