In fact, both Beijing Daoxiang Village and Suzhou Daoxiang Village are century-old stores. It deals in southern pastries represented by Su-style pastries. In the late Qing Dynasty, many food stores with the name Daoxiangcun appeared across the country, but in terms of which one has the longest history, Suzhou Daoxiangcun is the originator of "Daoxiangcun".
Daoxiang Village in Suzhou began in 1773, and Daoxiang Village in Beijing began in 1895. In the trial in which Suzhou Daoxiang Village sued the Trademark Commission and Beijing Daoxiang Village participated as the third party, Beijing Daoxiang Village also admitted that its history is not as long as Suzhou Daoxiang Village.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, with the public-private partnership, the two Daoxiang villages became state-owned or collective enterprises. Finally, with the advent of the Cultural Revolution, they both went out of business. After the reform and opening up, in order to inherit history and meet the people's growing material and cultural needs, both companies resumed business. In 1980, Suzhou Daoxiangcun Food Factory was established; in 1984, Beijing Daoxiangcun Food Company was established. Both sides are doing well in their respective territories.
