Wuxi yangyu, a specialty of Wuxi county, Chongqing, is a geographical indication of agricultural products in China. History

The ancient Wuxi River is now Daning River. A fish with fine scales and large scales near the abdomen and anus grows in the river. People call this fish Wuxi Yangyu because the name of the river has long been Wuxi Water. In the 11th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1885), it was also recorded on page 24 of the geography articles of Daning County Records. In 1985, in the agricultural division of Wuxi, the main fish species caught in Wuxi were described as: Wuxi yangyu, baijia, Qingbo, etc. The meat of Wuxi yangyu was tender and dense, and there was a skull shaped like a sword in its head. According to legend, Yang Guifei cruised to the beautiful Daning River with a crane that year, and saw a group of Wuxi yangyu playing in the rapids and rapids. She was very curious and stopped to watch and fell the embroidered sword she would wear into the water.
