Recalling that I did some patchwork and made some works, I also felt that I should sew the binding line well, but I also found many places to do it. Unfortunately, it is difficult to have a complete introduction to the binding line of a book.
Most patchwork products are inseparable from piping. One is to strengthen the work, and the other is to increase the aesthetic feeling of the work. This is my personal experience. Although this process is simple, it cannot be ignored. In particular, the piping is all around the work, and the production process must be exquisite. If the design and color matching of the work are good, but the piping is not good, then the work is inferior.
You can buy ready-made piping strips and you need to make them yourself. The production of piping is divided into cutting and ironing. After it is done, it is sewing.
Usually, the width of the pipe is determined according to the work, and then the width of the diagonal strip is determined according to the width of the pipe. Theoretically, the width of diagonal bars should be four times the width of pipes.
However, because patchwork products need to be lined with cotton with a certain thickness, it is often necessary to increase the theoretical width by about 2 mm
If the strap puller is used to make the binding strap, the width of the diagonal strap should be determined according to the size of the strap puller.
Splicing the cut diagonal strips into a continuous binding tape with enough length to surround the splicing block and leave a margin.
