a trademark can contain words, graphics, letters, numbers, three-dimensional signs, sounds, color combinations, or a combination of the above elements. Trademarks are used by producers and operators of commodities on the commodities they produce, manufacture, process, select or distribute or by service providers on the services they provide to distinguish the sources of commodities or services.

Article 8 of the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China

Any mark that can distinguish the goods of natural persons, legal persons or other organizations from those of others, including words, graphics, letters, numbers, three-dimensional marks, color combinations and sounds, and the combination of the above elements, can apply for registration as a trademark.
