Recently, Liangshan Town, xinmin city, Liaoning Province was awarded the honorary title of "Hometown of Watermelon in Liangshan, China" at the "China Fruit and Vegetable Agricultural Brand Forum and Famous Fruits and Vegetables Commendation Conference" organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Organizing Committee of China Fruit and Vegetable Agricultural Brand Forum. This is another honor that xinmin city won after eight business cards, such as "China's Best Entrepreneurial Environment City" and "China's Top 20 Small and Medium-sized Cities with Most Investment Potential".

Liangshan Town is located on the west bank of Liuhe River, and its unique soil climate is very suitable for growing watermelons. The watermelons planted in Xiaoliangshan Mountain are famous for their sweet and delicious taste, and they almost occupy the watermelon market in major cities in the north. Local farmers have been planting watermelons for one hundred years. At present, the watermelon area in the township has reached 75,000 mu.

This year, Liangshan watermelon registered trademark "Guandong Xiaoliangshan" was rated as "Liaoning Famous Trademark" by Liaoning Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce, which further opened up the market. At present, Liangshan Town has formed eight cooperatives and a team of more than 300 brokers. Through brokers, 250 million kilograms of watermelons in this township have been sold to major fruit markets such as three northeastern provinces, Shanghai, Gansu, Hebei and Guangdong.
