Jiuhu guides the masses to vigorously develop vegetable planting, adjust the agricultural planting structure and improve the output benefit per unit area. After several years of development, the vegetable industry with sweet pepper, eggplant and wax gourd as the main varieties has become a pillar industry to increase farmers' income. Among them, sweet pepper has the largest planting area, mainly distributed in Beiguo, Xihegou, Liuzhai and other villages. The main varieties are De 6, Jieyi 6 and Marquis. The sweet pepper in this town is big and thick, and the weight of a single fruit can reach 0.5 Jin, which is good in commodity and deeply loved by consumers. Through continuous exploration, villages such as Beiguo and Xihegou have improved the planting techniques of sweet pepper and gradually moved towards standardization and specialization. In June, 20001year, jiuhu declared the hometown of sweet pepper in China to the Ministry of Agriculture. In June, 2002, he applied to the State Trademark Office for registration of "Generation Tianjiao" brand sweet pepper. In September 2002, a generation of Tianjiao brand sweet pepper was recognized as pollution-free agricultural products by Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture. In February 2002, jiuhu was listed as a "designated" vegetable production base by Beijing Agriculture Bureau. In 2003, the planting area of sweet pepper in jiuhu reached10.5 million mu, with an annual output of 60,000 tons, and it was listed as a demonstration area of agricultural standardization in Shandong Province.
