Usually it refers to a trademark that is composed of only words, letters, numbers and their combinations according to the six elements of trademark combination stipulated in Article 8 of the Trademark Law. 2. The words that constitute the trademark can be Chinese characters (simplified or traditional Chinese characters, variant Chinese characters cannot be used), Chinese pinyin, ethnic minority characters, English and other countries’ characters or letters, and numbers. Different characters can be used in combination. 3. Generally speaking, single letters or numbers cannot be registered in most censorship countries around the world due to their lack of distinctiveness. Therefore, there must be more than two letters or numbers before it can be used as a word mark. 4. Letters or numbers in different languages ??can be combined with each other. The combination of words can use words with meaning, or words made up without any meaning. 5. Word trademarks shall not use words prohibited from use in Articles 10 and 11 of the Trademark Law.

Legal basis:

Article 10 of the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China, the following signs shall not be used as trademarks:

1. Same as the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China ***The name, national flag, national emblem, military flag, and medals of another country are the same or similar, as well as the name of a specific place where the central state agency is located or the name or figure of a landmark building; 2. Identical or similar to the name or mark of "Red Cross" or "Red Crescent"; 6. With Ethnically discriminatory; 7. Exaggerated and deceptive propaganda; 8. Harmful to socialist morals or having other adverse effects. Place names of administrative divisions at or above the county level or foreign place names known to the public shall not be used as trademarks. However, exceptions are made where place names have other meanings or are part of collective trademarks or certification marks; registered trademarks using place names will continue to be valid.
