Mercedes is the name of a French girl.
On March 21, 1899, a car grand prix was held in Nice, a famous coastal city in France. A Daimler car won the first prize. The owner of the car was Emil Jellinek, a car enthusiast at the time and a sponsor of Daimler and Maybach's automotive business. He happily named the car after his ten-year-old daughter, Mercedes.
Since then, Mercedes has become synonymous with Daimler's trademark. Mercedes means lucky in Spanish. Unfortunately, this beautiful beauty died of an unfortunate marriage at the age of forty. But the practice of naming cars after girls has spread like wildfire. Cars produced in the West and post-war Japan all like to use a female name as their brand name, and they all follow this approach. Mercedes cars.

Name origin:
Emil Jellinek’s third child was born on September 16, 1889 On that day, the Christian name was Mercedes, which means "elegant" and "lucky" in Spanish. ?
Soon, Emil Jelinek moved his business to Nice and brought his family there with him. As Mercedes grew up, her father became interested in cars and soon noticed DMG (short for Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft). In 1893, Emil Jelinek ordered a Daimler Phoenix car and a four-cylinder engine. After that, he started driving his own car in Nice.
Since it was fashionable to race under a pseudonym at the time, Emil Jelinek signed up for the race under the name Mercedes. Emil Jelinek, alias "Mr. Mercedes", won the race for the first time on March 21, 1899, when his daughter was only 9 and a half years old.
In 1900, DMG once again improved the design, enlarging the wheelbase, lowering the center of gravity, and increasing engine power. Emil Jelinek liked the car so much that he ordered 36 units worth 550,000 marks. But at the same time, he attached two conditions: first, he must be the only agent in Austria-Hungary, France and the United States; second, the car must be named after his daughter, which is Mercedes.
The name was quickly accepted and became popular. Soon after, DMG named all of its cars Mercedes. In 1902, the Mercedes trademark was registered, and a new era for Mercedes began.
