1. Xichang Alpine Black Pig

Xichang Alpine Black Pig is a specialty of Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and a national geographical indication of agricultural products.

Xichang Alpine Black Pigs are small and medium-sized, with mostly black hair, and a few are brown. The head is long, the mouth is straight, the ears are medium-large and drooping; the back and waist are slightly concave, the abdomen is large and slightly drooping, the hindquarters are slightly tall, and the legs are well muscled; the limbs are thick, the hooves are solid, and there are 5-7 pairs of nipples. The average weight of an adult black pig is about 75 kilograms. The quality characteristics of Xichang Alpine Black Pig are bright red meat color, slightly marbled lean meat, tender texture, chewy texture and special aroma.

2. Daxing garlic sprouts

Daxing garlic sprouts are a specialty of Xichang City, Sichuan Province and a national geographical indication product of China.

Daxing garlic sprouts are thick and long in shape, with a white base, dark green upper part, and no bran core at the end. The plant is upright and refreshing, with bright green color; the meat is thick, the fiber is low, and it becomes dregs in the mouth, and it is spicy and strong. The aroma is slightly sweet. After scientific testing, it was confirmed that Daxing garlic sprouts are rich in nutrients and have better quality than other producing areas.

In November 2013, the former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine approved the implementation of geographical indication product protection for "Daxing garlic sprouts".

3. Xichang Steel Goose

Xichang Steel Goose is a specialty of Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and a national geographical indication of agricultural products.

Xichang City belongs to the tropical plateau monsoon climate zone, with an average temperature of 17.1°C and an average annual temperature range of only 13°C. The accumulated temperature is 5934.2℃-6539.3℃, the annual sunshine is 6206.2℃; 2126 hours-2660.5 hours, the annual average sunshine is 2432.1 hours; the annual average evaporation is 1945 mm, the annual average rainfall is 1004.3 mm, the deficit is 940.7 mm, the deficit rate is 93.66, suitable for geese growth.

On August 3, 2012, the former Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China officially approved the implementation of agricultural product geographical indication registration protection for "Xichang Steel Goose".
