"A series of reports on the difficulty of intellectual property rights protection for college students' entrepreneurship" has aroused continuous concern. Recently, the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Hubei Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Promotion Center jointly launched a special investigation on the protection and utilization of intellectual property rights of young college students in Hubei Province through questionnaires and field interviews.
As the city with the largest number of college students, Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, proposed to implement the "Millions of College Students Studying in China for Entrepreneurship and Employment" this year. The survey visited 132 enterprises with dual innovation of college students, and 126 valid questions were asked. Wuhan is the main city, including Huangshi, Xianning, Huanggang, Xiangyang, Shiyan, Ezhou and other cities in Hubei Province. The industries involved include high and new technology, cultural creativity, modern agriculture, manufacturing, service industry and many other sub-fields.
According to the survey, the founders of young college students' innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises in Hubei Province mainly come from two categories: first, previous graduates who worked overseas or in first-tier cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and then returned to mainland cities to start businesses;
Second, the fresh graduates who were members of the technology research and development team as mentors during their school days and started their business after completing their studies. The duration of enterprises shows the characteristics of start-up and short time, among which enterprises with 2 to 5 years live in < P >.
"4% have been infringed, and 6% have not received relevant education at school ..." Based on the investigation report, the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League issued an appeal, saying that college students are a fresh force for innovation, knowledge-based entrepreneurship is the biggest feature, and
it is also the eager expectation of the country's economic transformation and upgrading. Relevant departments should increase their assistance based on group characteristics, so as to completely get rid of the unfavorable situation of "meeting with infringement unexpectedly and failing to protect rights"
The awareness of intellectual property protection is in its infancy as a whole
According to the survey, 89% of the enterprises surveyed said they knew about intellectual property rights, and they began to think about their own intellectual property protection as a whole, and made some observations on the protection and construction of social intellectual property rights.
However, it is hard to be optimistic that "half of young college students' knowledge of intellectual property is limited to trademark registration and patent application".
The field visit of the research team found that college entrepreneurs frequently have problems in the fields of intellectual property rights, such as service marks, names of manufacturers, names of places of origin, and stopping unfair competition, and they know little about the important applications such as the confirmation of intellectual property rights and patent applications, and the financing of intellectual property rights through pledge.
The person in charge of Wuhan Branch of Beijing Chaofan Intellectual Property Agency said that not only ordinary start-up enterprises have a shallow understanding of intellectual property rights, but even fast-growing enterprises such as OFO and Betta (the first unicorn enterprise in Wuhan) have a relatively passive learning and attention to intellectual property rights.
During the field visit to Wuhan Intellectual Property Exchange, the research group learned that the number of intellectual property consultation for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship is relatively small, whether it is directly connected by individuals or connected by dual-creation platforms such as incubators. According to the relevant person in charge of the institute, for small and micro enterprises where college students are innovative and entrepreneurial, intellectual property rights can not only bring convenience to financing, but also realize technology share-holding and technology transfer through transactions, thus promoting the development of
enterprises. Unfortunately, many small and micro enterprises do not understand this.
The survey shows that enterprises are not active in learning the knowledge of intellectual property protection. College students' innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises are mostly in the initial stage, and the survival of enterprises has become the most important goal, and the allocation of funds and manpower is very limited. Among the enterprises surveyed by the questionnaire, those that have developed for 3-5 years have higher awareness of their own intellectual property layout than those that have developed for 1-2 years. Enterprises often need to invest most of their energy to maintain their business operations in the initial stage of their business, and then they will move forward to the "icing on the cake" after crossing the
"survival barrier to solve the problem of food and clothing". Therefore, the growth of comprehensive management demand of enterprises is matched with the improvement of enterprise strength.
the more sophisticated the industry, the more advanced the concept of intellectual property protection and layout. The interviewed enterprises engaged in information transmission, computer service and software industry, biomedicine, environmental protection, new energy and new materials are easily linked with intellectual property rights because their own industries
mainly focus on technology research and development and transformation of achievements, so they have systematically conceived the intellectual property strategy at the initial stage of their business, and gradually put it into action.
the more perfect the platform service, the stronger the awareness of intellectual property rights and application. In the interview, it was found that most enterprises stationed in the incubator had received the services of agency, consultation, training and financing related to intellectual property rights carried out by their incubators, and 96 enterprises indicated that they would choose administrative protection and judicial protection such as industrial and commercial administration, patent office and intellectual property office to prevent and deal with intellectual property risks, showing a good trend of
clear direction and clear channels.
intellectual property rights are the driving force for protecting innovation and should be implemented.
