1. The Law of the Russian Federation on Trademarks, Service Trademarks and Names of Origin (Trademark Law) came into effect in 1992 and 10, and in 2002, 12,12.

2. Trademarks registered according to legal procedures or international organizations to which Russia is a member are protected by law in the Russian Federation.

3. Russia accepts the registration of commodity trademarks, service trademarks and collective trademarks.

4. Russia uses the International Classification of Goods and Services for trademark registration.

5. The international treaties and organizations to which Russia has acceded include: Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, madrid agreement concerning the international registration of marks, Nice Agreement on the International Classification of Trademarks Registered Goods and Services, Trademark Registration Treaty and World Intellectual Property Organization.
