How long is the useful life of a well-known trademark?

Legal analysis: The useful life of a well-known trademark is ten years. Well-known trademarks refer to trademarks that are widely known to the relevant public in China and enjoy a high reputation. The relevant public includes consumers related to the certain type of goods or services marked by the trademark, other operators who produce the aforementioned goods or provide services, as well as sellers and related personnel involved in the distribution channels.

Legal basis: Article 40 of the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China. If a registered trademark expires and needs to be continued to be used, the trademark registrant shall comply with the regulations within twelve months before expiration. Go through the renewal procedures; if you fail to do so during this period, you can be given a six-month extension period. Each renewal of registration is valid for ten years, starting from the day after the expiration of the previous term of validity of the trademark. If renewal procedures are not completed upon expiration, the registered trademark will be cancelled. The Trademark Office shall announce the renewal of registered trademarks.
