80% of the ancient tea gardens in Shuangjiang County, with tea trees 120 years old, are located in the eastern and western parts of Monkou. Every village in the East and West Mid-Levels with a history of more than 200 years has an artificially planted ancient tea garden.

Monkou belongs to subtropical mountain monsoon climate, with distinct wet and dry seasons, large temperature difference between day and night, and prominent three-dimensional climate. The annual sunshine is about 2400 hours, the annual average temperature is 65438 08℃, and there is abundant precipitation in China. The average annual precipitation in the dam area is 1.065 mm. The average annual precipitation in mountainous areas is 1.700 mm-1.900 mm.

Tea tree has strong growth potential, obvious trunk, plump buds and leaves, rich materials and high tea yield, and is recognized as an excellent variety.

Several famous ancient tea-producing villages in Mengku are familiar to tea lovers, such as the competition in the western Mid-levels, Iceland, Mumbo, Nasai and Bano in the eastern Mid-levels, and so on.
