From a design perspective, the McLaren logo consists of the English name McLaren and an abstract speed of light graphic representing speed. The speed of light, which represents speed, well positions the McLaren sports car, and the speed of light image is the logo applied to the car. The overall red is the identification color, and red symbolizes passion.

The Lexus trademark uses the capital letter "L" of the car name "Lexus", with the outside of the "L" surrounded by an oval. The oval represents the Earth, representing Lexus vehicles spread around the world.
