And every disaster, from the Wenchuan earthquake to the southwest drought to the Yushu earthquake, and even the Shanxi mining disaster, draws our attention to that land. What makes people worry is not only the disaster, but also the hidden dangers behind it. Trapped.

It is reported that there are many houses with civil structures in Yushu County, which have poor earthquake resistance. There are many places that need rescue, but there are no tools and we can only rely on our hands. There is a lack of large machinery, tents, medical equipment, medicines, and medical personnel. There is also a shortage of electricity. Yushu uses hydroelectric power generated by local small power stations. The earthquake caused a power outage across the state, causing great inconvenience to rescue operations.

An earthquake exposed the poor basic conditions in remote areas, making people worried.

During the severe drought in southwest China, we also witnessed such difficulties. The coming drought highlighted the shortage of water conservancy facilities. The water supply system for urban areas and industries rarely took into account rural irrigation needs. Water is needed to fight drought. Every disaster makes us shed tears for the plight of remote villages. This kind of hardship is not only a lack of material, but also a spiritual level and grassroots governance. In the face of difficulties, we should think about how to consolidate the infrastructure on that land, including housing, electricity, communications, water conservancy, medical care and other life support, so that we can have strong disaster relief capabilities while also being more capable.
