Yuanyang rice is known as "China's No. 1 rice". Yuanyang rice is grown on land that has been improved by the siltation of the Yellow River, and has been treated with organic compounds and a variety of trace elements. Irrigation by the abundant Yellow River water, coupled with the special climate of the area with a large temperature difference between day and night, contributes to the quality of Yuanyang rice. The saline-alkali land in Yuanyang County gives the rice innate alkalinity, making Yuanyang rice full of flavor without adding alkali when cooking. The rice produced is unique, with crystal clear texture, soft gluten and sweet taste, pure fragrance and strong palatability. According to the laboratory comparison by the national authoritative department, Yuanyang rice has higher protein, starch, copper, iron, calcium and other trace elements than Internationally famous Thai fragrant rice. In March 1996, it was approved as a green food by the China Green Food Development Center. In October 2002, Yuanyang Rice received the "Origin Certification Trademark" issued by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, becoming the first approved and registered origin certification trademark in Henan Province. It is the first company in the rice industry in the country and is known as "China's No. 1 Rice".
