During the more than 600 years from Jin Dynasty to Tang Dynasty, Xiapu ancestors relied on the convenient geographical conditions of maritime transportation, introduced tea-making technology, planted mountains to make tea, and developed tea production, which became the main tea-producing area in Fuzhou in Tang Dynasty. "Xiapu Yuanxiao Tea" is carefully made by traditional techniques under the influence of Xiapu's unique climate and soil conditions. Xiapu Yuanxiao Tea is one of the famous teas in Fujian Province. The fragrance is mellow, fresh and refreshing. In the history of the development of tea industry in eastern Fujian, it left a rich and colorful stroke. In the long-term labor practice, the people of our county have explored and created a set of manual technological processes suitable for local tea processing, that is, picking fresh leaves, drying, deactivating enzymes, arranging strips and flattening, and then making the "Xiapu Yuanxiao Tea" which enjoys a good reputation around. After the reform and opening-up in the last century, the tea-making technicians in our county inherited the handmade process of local famous tea, cultivated and improved local tea varieties, introduced the current green tea processing machinery, changed the process, jumped out of the limitation of handmade tea, and vigorously promoted mechanized tea making, which doubled the tea output in our county, not only retaining the unique quality characteristics of the original local famous tea, but also greatly improving the appearance and quality, forming today's famous tea products in Fujian Province.
