in an application, a trademark can only be applied for one category, but not for more than one category. Each application for trademark registration shall be submitted to the Trademark Office with an Application for Trademark Registration, ten trademark designs (for colored trademarks with specified colors, ten colored designs shall be submitted) and one black-and-white ink draft.

For example, to apply for registration of word mark Haier for installation and maintenance of computers, washing machines, air conditioners and air-conditioning equipment, three applications should be submitted in categories 9, 11 and 37 respectively.
