JCM8, introduced in 1981, is a classic dual-channel power amplifier, and the model comes from the license plate number of Jim Marshall. In the 198s, all kinds of rock and roll representatives used it, for example, Kerry King and Zakk Wylde (both of their Marshall signatures are based on JCM8).

Slash has been using JCM8 Jubilee version for a long time, a commemorative version of JCM8, and Marshall Company gave him a signature speaker in the late 199s. He was also the first Marshall company to launch a signature speaker.

JCM9 was introduced in 1987, and the output power was increased by the improvement of 8.
