What do the r and tm on the trademark mean?

1. R trademark: It means that the exclusive right to use the trademark has been obtained. It can be marked as a "registered trademark" on goods, packaging or other attachments. It can be marked in the upper right corner or lower right corner of the trademark. As long as R is marked on the trademark, it means that the trademark has been approved and registered by the Trademark Office and is a registered trademark. Trademarks that have not been approved for registration shall not be marked with R, otherwise it will constitute an act of passing off a registered trademark.

2. TM trademark: It does not necessarily mean that the trademark has been registered. Generally, after the acceptance notice is issued, you can use TM. In the upper right corner or lower right corner of the trademark, TM does not mean that the trademark can be registered. Success only means that the trademark is being registered. The Trademark Law does not stipulate the use of the TM logo. Trademarks that have not yet been approved for registration can be used as TM, but are not protected by law. After obtaining the registration certificate, the trademark can be used as R and is protected by law.
