Since 2002, Fenggang County has made full use of its ecological resource advantages and adopted the "pig-bog-tea-forest" circular economic development model to build a "forest with forest" in high mountains and hilly areas with suitable altitudes. There are 173,000 acres of ecological tea gardens in which there are trees (flowers) in tea and tea forests in between, of which 60,000 acres are in production, with an output of 2,500 tons in 2008 and a comprehensive income of 300 million yuan from the tea industry. In 2004, Fenggang County was awarded the title of "China's Hometown of Zinc-Rich and Selenium-Rich Organic Tea" by the China Hometown of Specialty Products Committee.
As of 2014, the county’s tea garden area is 402,100 acres, of which 180,000 acres are in production and 31,800 acres are organic tea gardens. It is the largest organic tea production base in southwest China; tea tree varieties include Fuding Dabai Tea, Jin Guanyin, Huang Guanyin, Longjing Changye, Longjing 43, etc., with 100 improved clones of tea trees; it is the first provincial export tea quality and safety demonstration zone in Guizhou Province. There are 278 large and small tea processing plants in the county; 86 registered trademarks, one well-known trademark in China, 11 famous trademarks in Guizhou Province, 1 national-level key leading enterprise, 15 provincial-level leading poverty alleviation enterprises, and municipal-level leading poverty alleviation enterprises. 18 enterprises. The tea output reached 19,800 tons, with an output value of 2.28 billion yuan.
