Chengdu Tongrentang was founded in the fifth year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1740) and has gone through 266 years. At that time, it was called "Chen Tongrentang Old Shop". Its founder, Chen Guangfa, had only been a hawker in Chengdu before. A drug dealer selling plasters and pills. In October 1980, Chen Tongrentang organically combined Chinese medicine with Chinese food, focusing on Chinese medicated food, and changed its name to "Chengdu Tongrentang Nourishing Pharmacy". In 1988, Chengdu Tongrentang restored its time-honored brand name and officially changed the name of "Chengdu Tongrentang Nourishing Pharmacy" to "Chengdu Tongrentang". It is currently a wholly-owned enterprise under the Chengdu Derentang Group. The names of Chengdu Tongrentang and Beijing Tongrentang are similar. In fact, the two have no historical origins. It can only be said to be "pure coincidence."
