The soil seed bank refers to the sum of all active seeds present in the litter on the soil surface and in the soil. The composition, quantity and dynamics of soil seed banks are closely related to community succession. When the number of soil seed banks is sufficient and evenly distributed, the community will succeed in a stable direction; when the number of soil seed banks is insufficient, the community will succeed in a declining direction. When the soil seed bank is concentrated over an annual period, communities of the same age will be formed; when the annual period lasts for a long time, it is easy to form communities of different ages, and the community is more likely to remain stable.
