It usually takes 3 to 4 weeks after an application is submitted to decide whether it will be accepted. The examiner will conduct formal and substantive examination of the application. The formal review is to review whether the application requirements and classification information comply with the regulations; while the substantive review includes a review of the distinctiveness of the trademark and whether it violates the prohibition of registration and prohibition.
