Tongxian pomelo was introduced by Liu Yunfang from Zhangzhou, Fujian Province (the address is unknown) in the 192s, and planted in his hometown, Sancun No.1 Community, Tongxian Town, Anyue County, Sichuan Province. Because of its excellent quality, it was named Gong Orange. Before 1949, it was propagated by high pressure and spread among relatives and friends of the Liu family, and dozens of strains were concentrated near Tongxian Town. After 1949, it was planted and cut down, and after repeated times, it was less than 1 thousand plants. By the early 198s, the government paid attention to it only after it was appraised by relevant experts and recognized as a fine variety. It has been more than 6 years since the introduction, and the mother tree is no longer searched. After searching for roots and sources in China, there are no identical varieties (lines), and it is known that their characters have mutated and become a new line. In 1986, it was named "Tongxian Pomelo". Since 1986, it has been developing vigorously. In 1995, it was registered in the State Trademark Office with the word "Tong Xian". In 1997, the area was 4, hm2 (with many young trees) and the output was nearly 1 million kg. This pomelo has excellent internal quality, ranking among the top three in the four consecutive evaluations of the National Pomelo Scientific Research and Production Cooperation Group.
