According to the evaluation of the National Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources Management Committee, Rongchang pig has "high lean meat rate, white color, and specific genetic traits". The Ministry of Agriculture has listed Rongchang pig as an excellent local pig under national key protection in the "Seventh Five-Year Plan". kind.
