What is the process of handling Swiss trademarks?
The applicant submits the trademark application documents to the Swiss Intellectual Property Office, which will inspect the trademark documents. Where the trademark documents are complete, the date and number of application shall be granted. If the trademark application documents do not meet the requirements, the applicant will be required to make amendments. For the examined trademarks, the Swiss Intellectual Property Office will examine their registrability, legality and compliance with the provisions of the Trademark Law. The trademark that has passed the examination will be published in the official announcement, and anyone can raise an objection to the trademark. For a trademark that has been ruled or has no objection and the objection is not established, the Swiss Intellectual Property Office will approve the trademark registration, make an announcement on Swiss patents, designs and trademark announcements, and issue a trademark registration certificate.
