Which industries are heavy and chemical industries?

Heavy chemical industry generally refers to the production of means of production, including energy, machinery manufacturing, electronics, chemistry, metallurgy and building materials industries.

① Coal industry. For a considerable period of time, the layout of China's coal base has focused on the construction of coking coal bases, and a number of coal bases for power, chemical industry and urban residents have been built.

②Petroleum industry. China's current main oil-producing areas are the Songliao and North China basins in the east, and the Tarim, Qaidam and Junggar basins in the west.

③Electric power industry. The development policy of China's electric power industry is to develop as much hydropower as possible, accelerate the construction of hydropower stations in mining areas, appropriately develop nuclear power plants, vigorously develop the power grid, and at the same time develop small hydropower, small thermal power and use wind power and other energy sources in off-grid areas.

④ Sulfuric acid industry. In the composition of China's sulfuric acid raw materials, pyrite accounts for about 73%, smelting flue gas accounts for about 11%, and sulfur accounts for about 16%. Construction of the country's largest Yunfu pyrite mine in Guangdong began in 1983. The sulfuric acid industry is mainly distributed in Nanjing, Shanghai, Dalian, Baiyin, Zhuzhou, Tongling, Huludao and other places.

⑤Soda production industry. The soda ash industry mainly includes five large-scale soda plants in Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Zigong and Yingcheng, and more than 20 small and medium-sized plants in Hangzhou Longshan, Hunan Lengshuijiang, and Shanghai Pudong.

⑥Fertilizer industry. Most of the nitrogen fertilizer plants established in China before the 1970s used coal as raw material. For example, Nanjing, Quzhou, and Shijiazhuang used anthracite coal, Dalian and Jilin used coke and heavy oil, and Lanzhou used lignite and heavy oil. Most of the large-scale nitrogen fertilizer plants newly built after the 1970s are combined with petroleum resources. There are Zibo Zhangdian and Daqing Wolitun Fertilizer Plants that use oil field gas to produce nitrogen fertilizer. There are also Liaohe, Cangzhou, Nanjing, Anqing, Zhijiang, etc. that use fuel oil and refinery gas. Dongting, Guangzhou and other chemical fertilizer factories.

④Petrochemical industry. China's petrochemical industry centers include factories in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Yueyang, and Liaoyang, among which Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical Corporation is the largest and Shanghai Petrochemical Corporation has the best economic benefits. It is located near oil fields. Daqing, Jilin, Qilu, Tianjin.

⑦The metallurgical industry is mainly based on the smelting of steel and non-ferrous metals.

⑧The building materials industry is mainly based on the production of cement and flat glass.

⑨Others include new heavy chemical industries focusing on shipbuilding, high-quality steel, technical equipment manufacturing, transportation equipment manufacturing, complete (supporting) equipment manufacturing for major projects, instrumentation, fine chemicals, etc.
