Zhuxi tribute rice has a tribute history of more than 1,300 years. In the first year of Tang Guangzhai (AD 684), Zhongzong Li Xian, who had been emperor for less than two months, was deposed as King of Luling by his mother, Wu Zetian, Pei Yan and other dignitaries. In April of that year, Li Xian was exiled to Fangzhou (today's Fang County). The 28-year-old King of Luling (Li Xian was born in the first year of Xianqing), under the supervision of cronies sent by his mother, brought a few family members to the wild Fangzhou - Fangxian County, known as the "Thousand-mile Fangzhou" (including the current Shennongjia Forest District). Here there are vast forests and sparsely populated areas. Even during the day, there are groups of tigers, leopards and "savages". Li Xian, who had just escaped his mother's butcher's knife, had no choice but to wander around Fangzhou in panic under strict surveillance. Fortunately, the King of Luling was relegated from the Li family, and local officials were always respectful.
