Suzhou Industrial Park is an economic and technological development zone and is managed by the Suzhou Industrial Park Management Committee.
Suzhou Industrial Park does not have a "district government" or "district committee", and its management committee is an agency dispatched by the municipal government. Therefore, Suzhou Industrial Park is an administrative area, not an administrative district. Administrative areas are generally established for the development of a certain area, such as economic development zones, high-tech zones, new districts, etc. Administrative areas are generally established with the approval of relevant national departments and have clear administrative areas and government agencies.
