What is the difference between acrylic (PMMA) and PC board?
Difference:

1. Acrylic is brittle and easily broken.

PC board is unbreakable.

2. Both are transparent plastics. Under the condition of the same thickness and raw material particles, the transmittance of acrylic board is 2-3% higher than that of PC board, and both of them are close to 90%, which is difficult to distinguish with naked eyes.

3. Acrylic board is easy to soften at 70 degrees, while PC is 120 degrees, so PC is more temperature-resistant and heat-resistant, and its working temperature is wider.

4. Under the same thickness, the impact strength of PC is 30-50 times that of acrylic board. 6 mm PC thick plate is bulletproof material, and 3 mm PC plate can't be broken by ordinary adults with a hammer.

5. Environmental protection: PC is an environmentally-friendly plastic, but some physical properties of acrylic board can't be achieved, so the application of acrylic board has been eliminated in some foreign fields, and it will be gradually promoted in China. Although China is a big country of acrylic board, there is little production of high value-added acrylic board, and they all rely on imports.

Acrylic acid.

PC board.

The chemical name of PMMA acrylic acid is polymethyl methacrylate.

Important optical plastics, good comprehensive performance and optical performance, transparency can be comparable to that of optical glass, and it hardly absorbs all-band light of visible light, with transmittance >; 9 1%, good gloss, light and strong, good molding processability, good chemical resistance and weather resistance, but the disadvantage is that the surface hardness is low and it is easy to scratch and swell when absorbing water, so it can be used as optical lenses and industrial lenses.

PC board polycarbonate.

Impact toughness (the first among thermoplastics), high heat and cold resistance, bending and tensile strength equivalent to nylon, high elongation and elastic modulus, good dimensional stability, wear resistance equivalent to nylon, corrosion resistance, high transparency, but easy to crack.
