Are there any merits in chanting the four seals of Amitabha frequently? Can you prove early that there is no speed to death until death? Is there any basis for this in Buddhist scriptures?

Have merit. How long it will take to realize non-life varies from person to person. Non-birth is the realm of Bodhisattvas in the eighth realm. In the history of Buddhism, there are very few people who have achieved this realm.

Amitabha, four simple words contain the entire Buddhist teachings.

For example: to listen to Beijing People's Broadcasting Station's traffic broadcast, you don't need to study the principles of electromagnetic waves. You just need to adjust the channel to FM103.9. When flying, you don’t need to study the structural principles of the aircraft, the quality of the pilot, and weather factors. You just need to believe that the aircraft can take you to your destination. Therefore, when you see the word "aircraft", these two words contain all relevant human wisdom and science. technology.

Why? This is called "calling virtue by name".

It is difficult to find a corresponding metaphor for "calling virtue by name" in the world. We can only inspire everyone through examples in the world. For example, there is a saying: "Hearing a great name for a long time is like thunder piercing the ears." This person's morality, knowledge, and merits are all included in his name. When people hear his name, they know that he is a great person. This is called "I've heard the name for a long time."

Brand Trademark Metaphor

Another example is the trademark metaphor we just talked about. A trademark is a commercial symbol or a label, and a famous brand is a name or a signboard. But a world-famous trademark or brand is often worth billions of dollars. This can be called "calling wealth with name". Money creates fame, and name is wealth. We also say that county magistrates, mayors, and provincial governors are all names, but with this name, they have this power. This is called "calling power with name." Power constitutes name, and name is power. What name you have, what rights you have.

Of course, this is mundane. In the business world, one calls for wealth by name, and in the political world, one calls for power by one’s name. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are beyond this world and belong to the world of merit, so they “call for virtue by name.”

Emperor’s Pardon of Sin

Like Emperor Kangxi, he waved his pen and said “Kangxi”, ah! This name contains the majesty of his emperor. Those who have committed the death penalty can be exempted from the crime; ordinary people can be promoted to official positions.

The power of Amitabha’s six-character name can save us from reincarnation in the three realms and six realms. Originally, we were sentenced to death and will fall into hell, but the six-character name can eliminate our sins. .

Amitabha Buddha is the "King of Buddhas, the Supreme Lord of Light", and offers universal forgiveness to all living beings in the ten directions. "After I become a Buddha, I will universally forgive the sins and karma of all living beings in the ten directions, so that they will no longer reincarnate. All return to my pure land." Why should he? Relying on his name, "If I become fully enlightened and name myself Immortal Life, all sentient beings who hear this name will come to my temple." The six-character name contains all the merits, so it can save us and forgive us universally and equally. Our sins. Amitabha's name is virtue, and virtue is name; Amitabha Buddha's name is how much merit he has, and he has many good deeds and blessings, and is perfect and supreme.

The metaphor of rags and gold

Of course we do not yet have the Buddha’s appearance, wisdom, and virtue, but this does not mean that good roots and merit are not equal to the Buddha. There is no difference among equals, but the time and karma have not yet arrived, and the good roots and merits inherent in chanting the Buddha's name have not yet been fully revealed. It's like a piece of rag with gold stuffed inside. Before the rag is opened, it looks like a rag on the surface, but actually it's gold inside. Once the rag is opened, the true nature of gold is revealed, and you can use it as you like. Because we are still in this world, the body of the body has not been thanked. Although the name of the Buddha is gold, the body is like a rag, covering it, so it cannot be seen. Once the body is destroyed and the life is over, the body of the body is thanked and we arrive in the paradise. , immediately like the Buddha, he has thirty-two characteristics, eighty kinds of good things, three luminosity and six powers, and appears instantly. Although it appeared at that time, it is still planted now by reciting the Buddha's name, and it is sufficient.

"One by one", every sound, every sound of chanting the Buddha's name contains and has many good roots and merits. Of course, the merits of the Buddha are called many good roots and many merits! Then think about it, it has never been said that besides the six-character name, the other things are called the merits of many good roots. Others, Sravaka Arhats - have few good roots in Bodhi, and have leaked blessings in human and heaven - have little merit, they are all called less, not many. With faith and willingness to uphold the name, every word will be endowed with many good roots and merits.

Have you not seen it? At that time, Einstein invented E=mc^2, which showed the microscopic aspects of the universe, but everyone at the time thought it was wrong. This is not to say, of course, that the formula is absolutely correct, but that the truth about the universe is actually quite simple!

Reciting sutras is not as good as reciting mantras, and reciting mantras is not as good as reciting Buddha's name.

The highest method - recite: Namo Amitabha, because you have to recite the Buddha's name, all the Buddhas in the ten directions will praise you! Because Amitabha is "the King of Buddhas and the Supreme Lord of Light."

Why can listening to the twelve sutras eliminate sins for a thousand kalpas?

A single call to the Buddha can eliminate sins for five million kalpas.

"Contemplation of the Infinite" "The Longevity Buddha Sutra" says: "Reciting the Buddha's name sincerely can eliminate the serious sins of life and death for eight billion kalpas." Among the mantras and sutras used in Buddhism, it has the greatest merit! Because the Buddhist scriptures say: Amitabha, the King of Buddhas, the Supreme Lord of Light. When you recite the Buddha's name, light will come out of your mouth and evil spirits will not be able to approach. It is also like a tiger coming out of its cage and all the beasts escaping. It’s just that people who don’t have any cultivation skills can’t see the light.

Don’t suffer the difficulties of Jiuheng.

If someone wants to pray for longevity, the general concept is, "I recite Medicine Buddha, who can eliminate disasters and prolong life; if I want to be reborn in the Pure Land, I recite Amitabha; if I want a child, I recite Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva; if I want to eliminate karma, I recite Ksitigarbha." King Bodhisattva: If I want my son to be wise and get into a good university, I should recite Manjushri Bodhisattva; if I want my child to have blessings, I should recite Maitreya Bodhisattva. He has a big belly and has blessings..." The Bodhisattva has done a lot of division of labor.

These are people who are new to Buddhism. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have many expedients. Because we sentient beings have too many desires and greed, they cleverly devise all kinds of expedients to guide us into the door of Buddhism. I have practiced chanting Buddha’s name for a long time, and I have practiced chanting Buddha’s name exclusively. It is not necessary at all. No matter what I ask for, I can replace it with one sentence of Namo Amitabha.

The Nirvana Sutra says:

For example, parents have seven sons.

Special pity for those who are sick.

As the Tathagata comes.

More compassion for those who suffer from sin.

The one whom the Buddha loved and cared about the most was his most seriously ill son!

"The Buddha Speaks of Amitabha's Fundamental Secret Divine Mantra Sutra":

Shariputra!

If there are sentient beings who hear the inconceivable merits and virtues of Amitabha Buddha,

will jump with joy, sincerely recite it, and have deep faith and perseverance,

in the present body,

Experience unparalleled happiness:

Maybe turn into poverty, gain wealth,

or gain fruit and avoid the suffering of diseases caused by past karma,

or If your life is shortened, your life will be extended.

Or if you hate your family, you will become resentful, and your descendants will be prosperous.

Although Zen Master Baizhang Huaihai established a jungle, he also said: The most reliable way to practice is to recite the name of the Buddha. Thousands of people will repair and go.

Yongming Zen Master, the sixth ancestor of the Pure Land Sect and the third generation founder of the Fayan Sect of Zen, said: There is a Pure Land without Zen, and thousands of people will practice it; but if you can see Amitabha, why not worry about not being enlightened. There is Zen but no Pure Land, and nine out of ten people will miss the road. If the underworld appears in front of you, just take a glance and let it go.

Zen Master Zen Enlightenment said: A line from Amitabha: This medicine of Agatha can cure all diseases; it is the king of wish-fulfilling pearls, and there is no desire or dissatisfaction. It is a kind voyage through the sea of ??suffering of life and death, which will not cross it without suffering; it is a lamp of wisdom that will shine through the long night of ignorance, without breaking through any darkness. When you recite the Buddha's name, you see the Buddha, and when you seek rebirth, you pass away; the three times are at the same time, and there is no before or after.

The Huayan Sutra says: It is better to suffer in hell than to hear the names of Buddhas. One is called "Namo Amitabha", and all the Buddhas in the ten directions will naturally protect his mind. Therefore, we know that when you recite Amitabha Buddha, you are reciting the names of the Buddhas in the ten directions; when you are born in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, you are reborn in the Pure Land of the ten directions; there is no need to change your words and recite the names of the Buddhas in the ten directions.

Nagarjuna Bodhisattva's "Ten Abodes of Vipassana": Buddhism has countless methods, just like the roads in the world, there are difficult roads and easy roads. Walking on land is hard, but taking a boat on water is fun. The same is true for the Bodhisattva path. There may be methods that require diligent practice and diligence, and it takes a long time to achieve the ultimate level of Abhay (without retreating); or there are methods that use faith as a convenience, which can be easily practiced and quickly achieve the level of Abhay. If there is a traveler who wants to reach the place of no retreat quickly, he should recite the name of Amitabha with respect, and be empowered by the Buddha's vows to be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss and quickly realize the state of no retreat.

"The Sutra of the Buddha's Essential Secret Divine Mantra of Amitabha":

Amitabha's name is endowed with immeasurable, inconceivable, profound secrets, extraordinary subtleties, and supreme merits. So what? In the three words "Amitabha", there are all Buddhas in the ten directions and three times, all Bodhisattvas, Sravakas, and Arhats, all sutras, Dharani mantras, and countless practices. Therefore, the name of that Buddha is the Dharma of the Supreme Reality and the Greatest Vehicle, it is the supreme pure and wonderful practice, and it is the supreme and most sublime Dharani.

"Nirvana Sutra": The Buddha told the king: If you open a large treasury, and give alms to all living beings in one month, the merits gained will not be as good as someone calling Buddha.

The "Great Compassion Sutra" says: Once you call the Buddha's name, you will enter the realm of nirvana with so many good roots, which are inexhaustible.

"Dharma Collection Sutra": "In the end of the Dharma, hundreds of millions of people practice cultivation and rarely achieve enlightenment. They can only rely on reciting the Buddha's name to save life and death, to be reborn in the Pure Land, and to realize that there is no turning back."

"Dharma" "Hua Sutra": If people with distracted minds enter the pagoda temple and call Namo Buddha, they have all achieved Buddhahood

"Zengyi Agama Sutra": Four things to offer to all sentient beings in Jambudvipa, if there is a call The Buddha's name is like a moment of milk, and its merits are beyond belief.

Nagarjuna Bodhisattva in "The Great Wisdom" said:

For example, if someone fell to the ground at the beginning of his life, he could travel thousands of miles in one day. A full thousand years. It is filled with seven treasures and offered to the Buddha. It is not as good as someone who, in the evil world to come, can recite Amitabha once and for all, and his blessings will be greater than that of others.

And the verse says: "A" refers to the Buddhas of the three times in the ten directions, and "Mi" refers to all Bodhisattvas. There are eighty thousand holy religions with the word "Tuo", among which three words are "complete".

"Amitabha Sutra": In each of the six directions there are Buddhas such as the sands of the Ganges River. They all spread their tongues throughout the three thousand worlds and speak the truth: If the Buddha is alive in the world, and if after the death of the Buddha, all ordinary people who commit sins will return, With Amitabha in mind, I wish to be reborn in the Pure Land for hundreds of years, seven days, one day, ten times, three times, one time, etc. When you are about to die, the Buddha and the saints will come to greet you, and you will be reborn. As the Buddhas of the six directions mentioned above relax their tongues, they will definitely testify for ordinary people: sins will be eradicated and life will be reborn. If one does not achieve rebirth in accordance with this realization, the Buddhas of the six directions will relax their tongues. Once they are spoken, they will never return to the mouth and will naturally become rotten.

In the "Infinite Life Sutra", Sakyamuni Buddha instructs Maitreya Bodhisattva: If anyone hears the name of that Buddha, he will jump with joy and even think about it. You should know that this person is equipped to achieve great benefits. Supreme merit.

"The Theory of Great Wisdom": There are Bodhisattvas who slander the Mahaprajna and fall into the evil paths and endure countless kalpas. Even if you practice the remaining deeds, you cannot eliminate sin. Later, when you encounter knowledge and teach you to recite Amitabha, you will be able to eliminate obstacles and be reborn in the Pure Land.
