How long does it take to review trademarks?

Legal analysis: 1. Inquiring before applying for trademark registration: This process takes one day, because trademark registrants will inquire about the designed trademarks to see if there are identical or similar trademarks before applying for trademarks. However, there are nearly several million trademarks in China, and it is also a very time-consuming project to check them one by one, so it takes a whole day. It is recommended that you go to a professional trademark agency to inquire, or directly to the Trademark Office. 2. Examination of trademark form: After the trademark application is submitted, the Trademark Office will conduct a formal examination of it. The process of formal examination will take about one month. In this process, it is necessary to conduct a preliminary examination on whether the application materials, documents and procedures comply with the legal provisions. After the examination, an acceptance notice will be issued, and the application date will be determined for the registrant. Once the application date is determined, it will become the legal basis for determining the trademark right. The application date for trademark registration will be based on the date when the Trademark Office receives the application. 3. Substantive examination of trademarks: The time required for substantive examination is about 9 months, which may be shorter if all goes well. The main contents of the examination are to check the materials submitted for trademark registration, analyze and compare them, conduct research and decide whether to give preliminary examination or reject the application. 4. Announcement of preliminary examination of trademark registration: The announcement of preliminary examination will be issued within three months after the substantive examination is completed. This announcement is presented to let everyone put forward their opinions on this trademark. If no one has any objection within these three months, the Trademark Office will allow the registered trademark submitted by the applicant to be registered, publish a registration announcement and issue a registration certificate.
