Why is there a Daoxiang Village in Beijing and a Daoxiang Village in Nanjing?

Daoxiang Village originated in Suzhou in 1773, and was called "Suzhou Daoxiang Village Tea and Restaurant" at that time; Beijing Daoxiang Village opened in 1895 at the Yin Temple outside Qianmen, Beijing, and is well known to old Beijingers.

Before 2004, due to the different markets of the two parties, there was almost no overlap. Suzhou Daoxiang Village was mainly distributed in southern markets such as Suzhou, while Beijing Daoxiang Village was concentrated in northern markets such as Beijing.

However, for a long time, Beijing Daoxiang Village did not have its own registered trademark, and it once had a "friendly cooperation" with Suzhou Daoxiang Village. From 2003 to 2008, Suzhou Daoxiang Village twice authorized Beijing Daoxiang Village to use its trademark.

The pastry category "Daoxiangcun" trademark owned by Suzhou Daoxiangcun applied for registration in 1982. The trademark was registered earlier than the founding of Beijing Daoxiangcun (1983), and it owns the prior registered trademark of "Daoxiangcun". It was recognized as a "well-known trademark in China" in 2013. No one else is allowed to use trademarks that are identical or similar to the "Daoxiangcun" trademark on pastry products without permission. Su Dao also authorized Beidao twice to use the "Daoxiangcun" trademark on pastry products from 2003 to 2008.
