On March 13, 2020, my family and I went to Zhaoling. When passing Shandi Village, we accidentally saw the roadside The blooming apricot flowers seem to be in a white ocean. So, we parked the car and walked in the apricot forest, feeling the unique and beautiful spring here: everything is green in spring, only the apricot blossoms are white.

A villager saw me holding a drone and enthusiastically invited me to board a two-story small building. Upstairs, you can overlook the surrounding apricot blossom forest. The small building is like an island, surrounded by a large sea of ??flowers, making it the best viewing location here.

The drone rose from the roof of the small building and soared freely above the apricot blossom forest, like a fish swimming in the water. Looking to the north, the majestic Jiuwei Mountain rises and falls. The main peak is the mausoleum of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty. It rises abruptly and pierces the sky with an altitude of 1,188 meters.

In the tenth year of Zhenguan (636), Empress Changsun died of illness, and Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty transferred her to He temporarily settled on Jiuwei Mountain and decided to use it as his mausoleum, and then began a large-scale construction project. This place is located at the bottom of Jiuwei Mountain, so it is named "Shandi Village".

According to legend, during the Tang Dynasty, one summer, Emperor Taizong Li Shimin returned from hunting and passed by this place, feeling extremely hungry and thirsty. A villager offered plums and apricots, a special product. After Li Shimin tasted them, he praised them repeatedly: "The cemetery mountain moistens itself in four seasons, and the water of thousands of plums and apricots flows forever." From then on, the plums and apricots in Shandi Village became royal apricots, and they were ordered every year. Pay tribute to the palace.

For thousands of years, the clear spring flowing from Jiuwei Mountain has nourished this area. The ancient land nurtures the people of Shandi Village. Every spring when the flowers bloom, standing on the main peak of Mount Jiuwei, looking at the village at the bottom of the mountain, you will see a vast expanse of white where the apricot flowers are in full bloom.

Wait until June, the height of summer, when plums and apricots hang on the branches, and golden fruits are everywhere. With its bright color and sweet taste, the royal apricots at the bottom of the mountain are famous far and wide and have become a specialty of Liquan County.
