Is Adi’s origin in Vietnam true or false?

Many Adidas products are produced in Vietnam. On May 29, 2018, Adidas, a world-renowned sporting goods manufacturer, announced that Vietnam is the largest production center for the brand's footwear. In 2017, the Vietnamese factory produced accounted for 44% of Adidas sports shoes, while the production share of the Chinese factory, which once had the largest production capacity, has dropped to 19%.

It is expected that in the next two years, Vietnam's factory production share will continue to rise, and orders will soon exceed 50%. The transfer of Adidas production capacity from China to Asian countries such as Vietnam began in 2012.

Extended information:

After Nike closed its production line in China in 2012, Adidas also chose to close its only factory in China in the near future. Analysts pointed out that the main reason why foreign clothing giants such as Nike and Adidas have closed their factories in China is that China's labor costs have continued to rise in recent years.

The labor cost advantage is no longer obvious and China’s status as the “world’s factory” has begun to waver. At the sales terminal, consumers are also aware of these subtle changes and find that more and more labels on their clothes have ‘Made in Vietnam’.
