We will start with the bee carcass. Draw an oval shape. Edit points using the Direct Selection tool to form the bee's body.

Next, draw a circle head shape. The editing point is slightly pointed.

To place the antenna, I used an oval shape and used the Pen Tool to draw a thick line connected to it.

6

Next, draw 2 ovals and rotate them to form the wings. Select the larger wing and press Ctrl + C Copy/Command. Press Ctrl + F/Command to paste Infront. Now, shift and select the winglet. Open your Pathfinder (Window > Pathfinder) and Alt/Option select the Minus Shape Region.

Bee spinning on stripes. Make a copy of the bee's body by pressing Ctrl + C/Command. Then paste Infront by pressing Ctrl + F/Command. Select the body copy and stripes and right click to select Clipping Mask. This will hide the extruded area.

Select the Polygon Tool and drag a polygon on the canvas. Hold Alt/Select and drag the first polygon to make another copy. Do this until you have 3 servings.

Select all 3 polygons and swap the fill with black. Then group press Ctrl + G/Command.

Now we will crop the overlapping area of ??the polygons. Select the bee's body and go to Object > Path > Offset Path and set the Offset value to 10 pt. Press Ctrl + Shift +]/Command + Shift +] before sending the new path.

Select the offset path and polygon and open your Pathfinder (Window >Pathfinder). Hold Alt/Option to select the subtract shape area.

Finally, we will add our final logo in the text. Notice I added a stroke to the body of the bee to make sure the lines don't fade out when printed. Also zoom out to see if it still looks sharp when smaller. Print out a copy in a different size, see how it will look on the letterhead and continue to modify it until you are satisfied.

Cleaning up my logo

Once I'm happy with my logo, I'll start cleaning up my logo. Save a copy of your logo so you still have the original to work with if you need to make any adjustments. Now select your text and outline by pressing Ctrl + Shift + O / Command + Shift + O to convert it to a path. This will prevent fonts from being lost on other computers.

Next, select the bee stripe and explorer and select Trim Edges to cut them off.

Select your bee's path to be comprised of the stroke and walk objects> Expand and click OK. We need to expand it to keep the same stroke thickness, otherwise the proportions get distorted when we reposition the logo.

After that we extended the bee, transformed the bee and selected the stripes. Pathfinder, Alt/Select your selected Add shape area. This will hold the bee shapes together.

Finally, we will add the colors of the logo and our logo.
