(About 395 BC - 338 BC), politician, reformer, thinker, representative of Legalism during the Warring States Period, Weiguo (now Liangzhuang Town, Neihuang County, Anyang City, Henan Province) Ji is a descendant of the king of Wei State. In 338 BC, Duke Xiao of Qin passed away and his son King Qin Huiwen succeeded to the throne. In the same year that Duke Xiao of Qin died, Shang Yang was defeated and died in Tongdi because he was accused by Prince Qian of treason. His body was brought back to Xianyang, where he was torn apart and displayed to the public.
