Zheng Huicheng, a Chinese industrialist and businessman, founded Fenghua Fine Products Manufacturing Factory (later renamed Shanghai Fenghua Ballpoint Pen Factory) in 1948, and began trial production and production of "SUPAIRISE" brand sleeve-type pocket ballpoint pens. The product shape is relatively unique. The plug-in type has symmetrical round heads at both ends and a gold-plated straightened copper sleeve in the middle. There is a trademark in the middle, but there is no pen clip. It is actually a women's pen and is placed in a leather bag after use. The ink used in the ball-point pen that was successfully trial-produced at that time was also developed by Zheng Huicheng. Only the steel balls were purchased from Hong Kong, with a specification of 1 mm. After more than a year of trial production, the first domestic ballpoint pen was put on the market in the autumn of 1949. The price of each ballpoint pen was equivalent to the price of a bucket of rice at that time, which is about 20 yuan today.
Fenghua Ballpoint Pen Factory is a public company established in May 1992 after undergoing joint-stock reform. It is the birthplace of domestic ballpoint pens and the earliest, largest and most economically beneficial pen-making enterprise in my country's ballpoint pen industry. Ballpoint pen production accounts for 60% of the total domestic ballpoint pen production, and exports account for more than 80% of the country's total ballpoint pen exports. The company currently produces six major categories of products and related gifts. In order to take advantage of the development opportunities in Pudong, the company moved to Pudong New Area and enjoys the preferential income tax policy of Pudong New Area, which exempts the company from income tax for one year and reduces it by half for two years. In order to expand the sales market of our products, we jointly established Shanghai Fenghua Industrial and Commercial Joint Sales Company with Shanghai Stationery Corporation, and established long-term cooperative relationships with 56 secondary stations across the country. Since 1992, the company has developed more than 70 new products, with the output value of new products accounting for 41% of the total output value. It has obtained the self-operation rights for import and export and directly faces the international market.
