Origin environment

Yangshan is located in the transition zone from north subtropical zone to middle subtropical zone, with warm and humid climate, distinct seasons, abundant sunshine, abundant rainfall and long frost-free period. Summer is a subtropical climate. Affected by the summer monsoon, the temperature often rises to 37℃, with an average rainfall of 1143 mm. It is rainy in spring and summer, and June is the wettest month, which is conducive to the early growth of peaches. In July and August, the sunshine is abundant and the temperature is high, which is beneficial to improve the sugar content of peaches. The center producing area of peaches is around four hills: Dayangshan, Xiaoyangshan, Changyaoshan and Lion Mountain.

Yangshan belongs to the geological stratum in the south of the Yangtze River. The upper Jurassic igneous rock series is exposed sporadically in Dayangshan, Xiaoyangshan and Shizishan, and is formed by the fusion of intermediate-acid pyroclastic rocks about 14 million years ago, with a thickness of more than 571m. The soil layer here is deep and fertile, the groundwater level is low, the drainage is good, the acidity and slight acidity of volcanic rocks and the soil rich in various trace elements are especially suitable for the growth of peaches.
