HTC’s Chinese name is Hongda Electronics, also called HTC (similar to TSMC’s name, and Taiwanese companies prefer to call it this way).
Hongda International Electronics Co., Ltd. was established on May 15, 1997, referred to as Hongda Electronics, also known as HTC. The earliest HTC was an OEM company, mainly responsible for the assembly of mobile phones with the WM system at that time. Later, we cooperated with Microsoft to produce our own WM system mobile phones, using the HTC trademark internationally and Dopod in China. In the mobile phone market at that time, HTC occupied the top spot in WM system mobile phones with its excellent design and powerful performance.
By September 2008, due to the emergence of the iPhone, the WM system was already a little tired, so HTC threw itself into the arms of Google and produced the world's first Android phone G1. Later, HTC entered the fast lane and ranked first in Android mobile phone usage in 2011 and No. 1 in North America.
Unfortunately, the good times did not last long. As competition intensified and HTC made strategic mistakes, HTC fell from its peak to the bottom in the past two years. Its stock price plummeted and mobile phone sales stagnated. Fortunately, HTC's transfer center has recently begun to focus on the VR field. The first product, vive, has begun pre-sales. The pre-sales situation is very good, and the stock price has also achieved rare growth.
