2 A registered trademark must meet the following prerequisites:
A registered trademark should have legal components, including words, graphics, letters, numbers, three-dimensional logos, color combinations and sound, etc., and combinations of the above elements. Registered trademarks should have distinctive features. According to Article 9 of the Trademark Law, the trademark applied for registration shall have distinctive features, be easy to identify, and shall not conflict with the legal rights previously obtained by others.
Can a trademark be renewed when it expires?
Trademarks can be renewed upon expiration. The term of use of a registered trademark is ten years. If you need to continue to use the trademark after ten years, you need to apply for trademark renewal procedures. The trademark registrant should apply for renewal of registration within twelve months before the expiration date. If no application is made during this period, a 6-month extension period may be granted. If the extension period expires and an application for renewal registration has not been submitted, the trademark registrant may cancel its registered trademark.
