Renhuai in Guizhou, Suqian in Jiangsu, Fenyang in Shanxi and Yibin in Sichuan, four ancient capitals with a long history of brewing, were finally named as "the four major wine capitals of China".
Yibin, called Rongzhou in ancient times, is an important town at the junction of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou. It is the starting point of Wuchi Road in Qin Dynasty and Yi Dao in South China, the starting point of Tang and Song Dynasties, and the transportation hub from southwest Sichuan to Tubo and Tianzhu, and to southwest minority areas. This place is the center of the southwest famous wine belt, with a long history of brewing and a thousand years of famous wine. It is rainy and hot in the same season, and the climate is mild. Air and soil are most suitable for the growth of microorganisms needed for wine making. There is a saying that "Sichuan wine is the best in the world, and the essence is in Yibin".
